The life of any individual is a wonderful book;
it is a love story, one of adventure and travel.
It is biography, and it is poetry.
It is spiritual, and it is tragic.
It is everything rolled into one for it is life,
and life is every human emotion and experience.
The story does not end until the last line of the last chapter is completed.
God is the author, and He records a true portrayal of the character
of the actors in the story, and the book will end “happy-ever-after”
only if we, the actors, live our roles as He directed.
Vernon Howard’s SECRETS OF LIFE
“Throughout all these years, a special corrector has been trying
to tell you something and you have been listening to something
else – to a quick thrill or a false pleasure.
You are now going to see, ponder over everything you can think
about, in regard to your inner restlessness. Now you know what
that word means. It means you can’t settle down to one definite
task, even a little household duty. You can’t settle down and
just do it. While you’re doing something, washing the windows,
you’re jumping around to worrying about something.
Restlessness, anxiety, hopping around is extremely characteristic
of your mental state. That means you’re at the mercy of what is
happening unconsciously inside of you. You cannot let your mind
flow fully to the task of the moment, whatever it might be. But
the mind is always jumping, either back or ahead of itself in a
vain but furious attempt to try to find something more exciting
than washing the windows. Your repetitious mind doesn’t like that
Now, here’s what to see. At the moment you’re washing the windows —
how many wash your windows once in awhile? Okay, at the time you’re
doing that, notice that you want to be someplace else doing some-
thing different. And that will start a train of thinking in which
you will see that you have this bad attitude toward washing the
windows. You want to be doing something else, but you fail to
understand that you’re suppose to be living with yourself, not
with angry thoughts about this or that task that you don’t know
what to do about.
You are to understand that when you’re doing anything at all,
whatever, when you’re doing it, you’re supposed to be knowing
where you are. You’re supposed to be your world. You’re supposed
to be with yourself!”

Twenty Four Hours A Day OCT.31, 2016
Thought for the Day
I have more peace and contentment. Life has fallen into place. The pieces of the jigsaw puzzle have found their correct position. Life is whole, all of one piece. I am not cast hither and yon on every wind of circumstance or fancy. I am no longer a dry leaf cast up and away by the breeze. I have found my place of rest, my place where I belong. I am content. I do not vainly wish for things I cannot have. I have “the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.” Have I found contentment in A.A.?
Meditation for the Day
In all of us there is an inner consciousness that tells of God, an inner voice that speaks to our hearts. It is a voice that speaks to us intimately, personally, in a time of quiet meditation. It is like a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. We can reach out into the darkness and figuratively touch the hand of God. As the Big Book puts it: “Deep down in every man, woman, and child is the fundamental idea of God. We can find the Great Reality deep down within us. And when we find it, it changes our whole attitude toward life.”
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may follow the leading of the inner voice. I pray that I may not turn a deaf ear to the urging of my conscience.

I know that when I pray, something wonderful happens. Not just to the person or persons for whom I’m praying, but also something wonderful happens to me. I’m grateful that I’m heard
 Maya Angelou
Since some people have been healed through prayer, While others have not, the answer is NOT that God responded to some and not to others, but that some have responded to God more than others. Their prayer (their thought) has responded by corresponding. The answer to prayer is in the prayer

Alcoholic Anonymous began with sponsorship.  When Bill W., only a few months sober, was stricken with a powerful urge to drink, this thought came to him: “You need another alcoholic to talk to.  You need another alcoholic just as much as he needs you!”
He found Dr. Bob, who had been trying desperately and unsuccessfully to stop drinking, and out of their common need A.A. was born.  The word “sponsor” was not used then; but Bill carried the message to Dr. Bob, who in turn safeguarded his own sobriety by sponsoring countless other alcoholics. Through sharing, both of our co-founders discovered, their own sober lives could be enriched beyond measure.

A light wind coming downhill the night birds song.
The strange writings I read on my lover’s door says
the same message now being called out over the rooftops.

ACIM Workbook Lesson 303 Insights

“The holy Christ is born in me today.”
Let me welcome my true Identity today. Let me open my mind to God’s gifts of peace, joy and Love. Let me recognize the truth today. Let me give my true Identity a chance. Let me open to the Light of Truth, Who will shine away all the belief in separation still residing in my mind. Let my mind be transformed today.
Let God’s Thoughts fill my mind. Let me extend God’s Love and see God’s Love behind every barrier to Love. Let me rest in God’s Sanity. Let me remember the truth that there is only one Self behind every form of separation I see today. Let me practice waking up to the truth today. Let the holy Christ be born in me today.
As I identify with my Self, the Son as God created Him, the holy Christ is born in me. The birth of Christ in me is simply the recognition of my Self as God created me, along with all my brothers. The more I accept this, the more peace I experience. There is less conflict because I recognize more and more that we all share the same interest.
We all want to extend Love, for that is our nature. There is no conflict in that. Everyone, without exception, wants the peace of God, no matter what their behavior. This is because we all want to remember our Self and be What we were created to be. To do this, we must let go of the barriers that hide our Self from us. It is we who hold those barriers in place and it is we who must let them go. That is why forgiveness is central to the Course’s teaching. Forgiveness removes the barriers to Love’s presence. Forgiveness allows the holy Christ to be born in me today.
Happiness that is delightfully varied,
its essence is changeless,
is the inner experience everyone is seeking.
