What exists in the life to come, we can leave to the theologians.
But the actual existence of Heaven and Hell here on earth is
indisputable to us who have lived in both.
If most of the Bible thumpers that continually raved about
the threats of Hell could know the Hell the poor practicing
alcoholic is going through, it would scare them to death.

Twenty Four Hours A Day APRIL 25, 2016
Thought for the Day
I don’t believe that A.A. works because I read it in a book or because I hear people say so. I believe it because I see people getting sober and staying sober. An actual demonstration is what convinces me. When I see the change in people, I can’t help believing that A.A. works. We could listen to talk about A.A. an day and still not believe it, but when we see it work, we have to believe it. Seeing is believing. Do I see AA. work every day?
Meditation for the Day
Try saying “God bless her (or him)” of anyone who is in disharmony with you. Also say it of those who are in trouble through their own fault. Say it, willing that showers of blessings may fall upon them. Let God do the blessing. Leave to God the necessary correcting or disciplining. You should only desire blessing for them. Leave God’s work to God. Occupy yourself with the task that He gives you to do. God’s blessing will also break down all your own difficulties and build up all your successes.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may use God’s goodness so that it will be a blessing to others. I pray that I may accept God’s blessing so that I will have harmony, beauty, joy, and happiness.
Love is the Eternal Flame of the universe,
may, the very fire itself.

I have since been brought into a way of living infinitely more satisfying and, I hope, more useful than the life I lived before. My old manner of life was by no means a bad one, but I would not exchange its best moments for the worst I have now. I would not go back to it even if I could.

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children…to leave the world a better place…to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

Thus we grow. And so can you, though you be but one man with this book in your hand. We believe and hope it contains all you will need to begin.

ACIM Workbook Lesson 116 Insights
Review: “God’s Will for me is perfect happiness.”
and “I share God’s Will for happiness for me.”
There is an aspect in my mind that seems to be on constant alert, looking for ways to sabotage my happiness. I call it the judge. The judge has a template of rules that define how circumstances should be, how events should occur, what people should say and do, and what I should say and do. It measures everything against this template. If anything does not measure up to this template, which is certain to happen, the gavel comes down and the verdict is guilty. Most of the time guilt seems to be assigned to others. The judge says it is acting on my behalf for my best interests. It’s just trying to keep things in control so that I can be happy.
What it doesn’t say is that it has conflicting rules and so it is never possible to achieve perfect happiness based on its rules. There will always be some violation, some cause for guilt. If ever I doubt its rules, it righteously points out that these rules are there for my protection. Without them I am defenseless, according to the judge. I would become a pawn to all the other forces that are out there trying to control me. It is quick to judge and always ignores the real evidence. It seems to operate under the principle, “Don’t confuse me with the facts.”
Peace, like a globe of fire, expands and fills my omnipresence.
