A RALLYING POINT
Therefore, Step Two is the rallying point for all of us. “Whether agnostic, atheist, or former believer, we can stand together on this Step.”
TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p.  33
 I feel that A.A. is a God-inspired program and that God is at every A.A. meeting. I see, believe, and have come to know that A.A. works, because I have stayed sober today. I am turning my life over to A.A. and to God by going to an A.A. meeting. If God is in my heart and everyone else’s, then I am a small part of a whole and I am not unique. If God is in my heart and He speaks to me through other people, then I must be a channel of God to other people. I should seek to do His will by living spiritual principles and my reward will be sanity and emotional sobriety.

“CREATIVE ENERGY
Begin today to use this remarkable procedure: First, become clearly
aware of every arising feeling of pressure or discomfort or nervousness.
Just notice how they persistently rise up and take over mind and body.
Next, become conscious of the great energy possessed by these ruthless
invaders, for they do indeed move with great force.
   With all this in mind, proceed to the next important phase.
   Think of this energy as being totally pure in its original form. Do not
see it as pressure or nervousness which must take you over, but as a
force under your own command. This is the way it can be. It is like a
raging river tamed by strong banks.
  Finally, think what can be done with all this power! See how you can
help yourself by releasing it towards positive goals, including personal
poise and clear judgment. Let yourself be both inspired and renewed.”

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity to
Accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And the Wisdom to know the difference.
We were now at Step Three.
 Many of us said to our Maker, as we understood Him:
“God, I offer myself to Thee – to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the
bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them
may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy
will always!”
We thought well before taking this step making sure we were ready; that we could at last abandon
ourselves utterly to Him.
Seventh Step Prayer
-The Seventh Step Prayer is from page 76. The Big Book
   When ready, we say something like this:
“My Creator, I am now willing that you should have all of me, good and bad. I pray that you now
remove from me every single defect of character which stands in the way of my usefulness to you
and my fellows. Grant me strength, as I go out from here, to do your bidding. Amen.”
We have then completed Step Seven.
-(Both derived from page 86 in the Big Book)
St Francis Prayer
-From Chapter 11 of “Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions”
“Lord, make me a channel of they peace,
that where there is hatred, I may bring love;
that where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness;
that where there is discord, I may bring harmony
that where there is error, I may bring truth;
that where there is doubt, I may bring faith;
that where there is despair, I may bring hope;
that where there are shadows, I may bring light;
that where there is sadness, I may bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather to comfort than to be comforted;
to understand, than to be understood;
to love, than to be loved.
For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to Eternal Life.”
St. Francis Assisi (1182-1228).

COME, AND LET ME HEAL YOU
 Come to me and I will heal you. The inner power of Life within me is God, and it can heal anything. I will to heal and help all who come to me. I know that the realization of Life and Love within me heals all who come into Its presence. I love the thought that I silently bless all who enter my atmosphere. It is not I, but The Father Who dwelleth in me; He doeth the works. I heal all who come near me.
Ernest Holmes
It works if you believe in God,
but you can’t play God.

The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.
BARACK OBAMA
O you who’ve gone on pilgrimage –
              where are you, where, oh where?
Here, here is the Beloved!
              Oh come now, come, oh come!
Your friend, he is your neighbor,
             he is next to your wall –
You, erring in the desert –
              what air of love is this?
If you’d see the Beloved’s
              form without any form –
You are the house, the master,
              You are the Kaaba, you! . . .
Where is a bunch of roses,
              if you would be this garden?
Where, one soul’s pearly essence
              when you’re the Sea of God?
That’s true – and yet your troubles
              may turn to treasures rich –
How sad that you yourself veil
              the treasure that is yours!

ACIM Workbook Lesson 38 Insights
“There is nothing my holiness cannot do.”
This lesson reminds me of the opening statement of the Course, “Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.” I equate holiness with remembering the truth of our wholeness or oneness. This world of separation is a dream. In truth, in reality, there are no problems. Nothing real can be threatened. Love cannot be threatened. What is not Love is a dream and is coming from the false mind that makes up dreams.

When put in Holy Spirit’s hands, any dream can change. Lemons will be turned to lemonade when put in Holy Spirit’s hands. Once I put a problem in Holy Spirit’s hands I can confidently say, “I can hardly wait to see the good that comes from this.” The Holy Spirit can bring peace to my mind with any perceived problem, if I let It. The Holy Spirit brings me a reversal in thinking. I see the whole situation differently. I see that every perceived problem comes from false thinking, and false thinking can be changed.

I can be taught to bless instead of curse. I can be taught to see peace instead of conflict and fear. I can be taught to see past every form the ego mind makes up to the constant, eternal Light of truth that is always there behind the dream story. I can be trained to open up to the truth behind every dream, behind every problem. I can be taught to hold to the truth. The truth is true and nothing else is true. Herein lies the peace of God. Herein lies the Love of God and herein lies the healing idea that I can extend Love instead of the ego’s lies in every situation There is nothing my holiness cannot do.

For me, the most remarkable statement Jesus makes in regard to today’s lesson is that I have dominion over all things. It is a statement of freedom and a release of the need to control. For me, dominion means to be that which is whole, and all circumstances and events and relationships are experienced accordingly. It seems that every lesson weaves a powerful thread of inspiration to be aware of my wholeness, to be in the moment, to be Love as I was created.

What a tremendous burden is lifted from my mind when I accept that peace and joy are not dependent upon my outer circumstances, but that how I perceive my outer circumstances are the effect of whether I am being peace and joy or not. What a sense of freedom to be in a moment where I truly accept and need not control anything to be fulfilled. It occurs naturally if I just make the choice to be in Love and allow it to flow.

==================================
One who wants to be a concert pianist will practice at the piano twelve hours a day. If, instead, his practice consists of pecking halfheartedly at the keys for a few minutes every day, he’ll never become any good as a pianist.

That’s how it is with the search for God. How can you expect to know Him if you only half try?

It is very difficult to reach God. If even a concert pianist must work hard to become successful in his profession, how much more earnestly must the devotee “work” at meditation in order to realize the Infinite!

Here, however, is an encouraging thought: Everyone who makes a sincere effort on the spiritual path will surely reach his goal. You cannot say that of worldly ambition. Not everyone can become a famous pianist, no matter how hard he tries. For in every field there is room at the top for very few. All men, however, can claim their sonship equally with the Heavenly Father.
