In AA, no man is the official mouthpiece of the Movement.
No one person represents AA officially.
 Here you find a God of your own understanding;
when you talk, you give only your own opinions,
you give your own interpretations of the Twelve Steps
and practice them as you think they should be practiced.
If you use your method and stay sober,
we will admit your way is good for you.
But we admit no authority on your part
to tell us how to work them.
Because it worked for you is no sign it
might not be poison for someone else.
“If you do not call an event or condition a failure, it cannot
represent failure to you. This means the event or condition cannot
bother you in the slightest, regardless of its worry to others. So
we must find out why we call anything a failure. It is because we
have in some way connected it with a sense of identity. We desire
the event to give us money or medals so that we can picture our-
selves as wealthy or famous. But all is vain. Even if we get the
money or medals, we have done nothing for our true selves.”

We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.
Once I became sober, I began to see how wasteful my life had been and I experienced overwhelming guilt and feelings of regret. The program’s Fourth and Fifth Steps assisted me enormously in healing those troubling regrets. I learned that my self-centeredness and dishonesty stemmed largely from my drinking and that I drank because I was an alcoholic. Now I see how even my most distasteful past experiences can turn to gold because, as a sober alcoholic, I can share them to help my fellow alcoholics, particularly newcomers. Sober for several years in A.A., I no longer regret the past; I am simply grateful to be conscious of God’s love and of the help I can give to others in the Fellowship.

Prayer is not an act of overcoming God’s reluctance,
but should be an active acceptance of His highest willingness.

Living in the past is VICTIM, Living in the
future is MANIPULATING. Live in the present.

I found a big book in jail and I wanted to take
it with me but it had the jaill stamp in it.

When I dare to be powerful — to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.

There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the earth.

Lesson 14
God did not create a meaningless world.
The idea for today is, of course, the reason why a meaningless world is impossible. What God did not create does not exist. And everything that does exist exists as He created it. The world you see has nothing to do with reality. It is of your own making, and it does not exist.
The exercises for today are to be practiced with eyes closed throughout. The mind-searching period should be short, a minute at most. Do not have more than three practice periods with today’s idea unless you find them comfortable. If you do, it will be because you really understand what they are for.
The idea for today is another step in learning to let go the thoughts that you have written on the world, and see the Word of God in their place. The early steps in this exchange, which can truly be called salvation, can be quite difficult and even quite painful. Some of them will lead you directly into fear. You will not be left there. You will go far beyond it. Our direction is toward perfect safety and perfect peace.
With eyes closed, think of all the horrors in the world that cross your mind. Name each one as it occurs to you, and then deny its reality. God did not create it, and so it is not real. Say, for example:
God did not create that war, and so it is not real.
God did not create that airplane crash, and so it is not real.
God did not create that disaster [specify], and so it is not real.

“Then to this earthen Bowl did I adjourn
My Lip the secret Well of Life to learn:
And Lip to Lip it murmur’d–‘While you live,
Drink!–for once dead you never shall return.”
