Jobs are as good or as bad as the mental attitude we have toward them.
No man holds a job but what some other man is envious of him on its account,
and every job has its good and bad points.
Too often we hear the excuse that the job was the cause of the drinking,
when most frequently it was the drinking that made the job obnoxious.
One man swinging a pick is digging a hole in the ground,
and his fellow workman beside him is doing his part in the erection of a Temple.
Maybe it’s not the job at fault; maybe it’s your attitude toward it.

Twenty Four Hours A Day JULY 22,2016
Thought for the Day
One of the finest things about A.A. is the diversity of its
membership. We come from all walls and stations of life. All
types and classes of people are represented in an A.A. group.
Being different from each other in certain ways, we can each
make a different contribution to the whole. Some of us are
weak in one respect, but strong in another. A.A. can use the
strong points of all its members and can disregard their
weaknesses. A.A. is strong, not only because we all have the
same problem, but also because of the diversified talents of
its members. Each person can contribute part. Do I recognize
the good points of all my group’s members?
Meditation for the Day
“And greater works than these shall ye do.” Each individual
has the ability to do good works through the power of God’s
spirit. This is the wonder of the world, the miracle of the
earth, that God’s power goes out to bless the human race
through the agency of so many people who are actuated by His
grace. We need not be held back by doubt, despondency, and
fear. A wonderful future can lie before any person who
depends on God’s power, a future of unlimited power to do
good works.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may not limit myself by doubting. I pray that I
may have confidence that I can be effective for good.
The spirit of man is of like nature to the Spirit of God,
and it is impossible for the Spirit of God to remain in darkness.

So it’s not strange that lots of us have had
our day at defying God Himself.

ACIM Workbook Lesson 202 Insights

“I am not a body. I am free.
For I am still as God created me.”
“I will be still an instant and go home.”
I am in Heaven now. I am still as God created me. But I am still not aware of my Home as long as I choose to believe in separation. With the power of my mind, I experience a world of bodies and have forgotten my true Identity as an extension of God. Now I would reverse that. I would practice reinforcing the truth instead of the ego’s lies. I would practice opening to the Holy Spirit’s perception, Who sees past bodies to the Light of God that is always there.
Today’s practice helps me let go of identifying myself with a body. The more I repeat the words of today’s lesson, the more I let the truth sink in to my awareness. Repeating this lesson many times a day is very helpful. After a while it becomes an automatic thought. “I am not a body. I am free. I am still as God created me.” It is like playing a piano where many, many repetitions help make it an automatic response.
I consider this series of lessons to be very important to my awakening. I have reinforced the ego for a long time. It is now time to reinforce the truth and awaken from dreaming of separation. I can still use the body for the Holy Spirit’s purposes, but I do not have to be lost in the dream. I do not have to think the dream is real. With the Holy Spirit’s guidance, I can see past the dream to oneness. I can find my Self.
Why would I not listen to the Voice for God in my mind That lovingly and gently calls me Home? Only fear would make me unwilling to listen. The fear is that my will and God’s Will are not the same and if I were to listen to His Voice, I would be called to sacrifice my will.
This is one of the ego’s central lies, for the ego is the idea of sacrifice and loss. As long as I think I am the ego, I think my will is in opposition to God. But each time I am able to allow myself to become peaceful for an instant and go Home to the loving Heart of God, my identification with the ego thought system is loosened. The more opportunities I give myself to experience an instant of peace in God, the less I am bound to the world’s thought system and the more real my Home in Heaven is to me.
Only my belief in another world makes Heaven seem distant and unreal to me. The simple practice of being still an instant to go Home is a gentle, step-by-step process of loosening the bonds I have placed on myself which bind me to a world of illusions of limitation that could never be real.
Today I will practice this lesson as often as I can to open my mind to the Holy Spirit’s Voice in my mind, for I know It leads me to the comfort and peace of God. It will help me remember I am not a body. I am free. I am still as God created me.
The man of realization is spiritually awake,
his alert divine vision ever intent on the luminous reality.
Paramahansa Yogananda

“From the house of unbelief
to true religion
is a single breath;
From the world of doubt
to certainty
is a single breath;
Enjoy this precious single breath,
for the harvest
of our whole lives
is that same one breath.”
