The Program is often referred to as a Selfish Program, and it is primarily that. Jesus of Nazareth told us to “Love our neighbors AS ourselves.” We are supposed to love ourselves, and in so doing, we should give to ourselves all the happiness we can. We have found out, however, by practical application, that we can only receive happiness if we give happiness.
We should fulfill all our duties to our families, to our communities and to our neighbors so that we can keep in the good graces of our own conscience, for that is the only avenue of approach to happiness and peace of mind.
If you really love that guy in the mirror, you must of necessity love your Creator and your neighbor.

Twenty Four Hours A Day  MAY 7,2016
Thought for the Day
It’s very important to keep in a grateful frame of mind, if we want to stay sober. We should be grateful that we’re living in a day and age when alcoholics aren’t treated as they often used to be treated before Alcoholics Anonymous was started. In the old days, every town had its town drunk who was regarded with scorn and ridiculed by the rest of the townspeople. We have come into A.A. and found all the sympathy, understanding, and fellowship that we could ask for. There’s no other group like A.A. in the world. Am I grateful?
Meditation for the Day
God takes our efforts for good and blesses them. God needs our efforts. We need God’s blessing. Together, they mean spiritual success. Our efforts are necessary. We cannot merely relax and drift with the tide. We must often direct our efforts against the tide of materialism around us. When difficulties come, our efforts are needed to surmount them. But God directs our efforts into the right channels and God’s power is necessary to help us choose the right.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may choose the right. I pray that I may have God’s blessing and direction in all my efforts for good.
Nothing need be added to and
nothing can be taken away from
the All Good which is forever expressing Itself in me.
Daily shall I receive its great blessings
and my soul shall rejoice forevermore.

“In the sweet territory of silence we touch the mystery. It’s the place of reflection and contemplation, and it’s the place where we can connect with the deep knowing, to the deep wisdom way.”

looks outside, dreams.

ACIM Workbook Lesson 127 Insights
“There is no love but God’s.”
At the beginning of today’s exercise, I repeated the title of today’s lesson slowly in my mind, like a mantra. Each time I said it, I felt myself relax a little more. It brought a sense of relief. As I accept that there is no Love but God’s, I no longer need to spend all the time I have spent trying to be accepted in one way or another. I don’t need anyone’s approval, for I already have all of God’s Love. There is nothing else.
As I remember that there is no Love but God’s, a big portion of the time I have invested to try to obtain value, worth and acceptance is no longer necessary. As I go deeper into remembering that there is no Love but God’s, all need for defense disappears. I no longer have to maintain an image that is “acceptable.” I no longer need to be right. I no longer need to fear losing love or value. So another big chunk is released, freed from investment in defense and returned to acceptance of all that is real, of Love.

Open your eyes to the good that you now have;
keep alert and alive to each new manifestation of His grace.
