Many of us would have been ready to do something
about our drinking problem years before we did,
except for the obstinate determination not to allow the wife,
mother or boss to tell us what to do.
The moment we catch even a glimpse of God’s will, the moment we begin to see truth, justice, and love as the real and eternal things in life, we are no longer deeply disturbed by all the seeming evidence to the contrary that surrounds us in purely human affairs.

Occasionally. . . . We are seized with a rebellion so sickening that we simply won’t pray. When these things happen we should not think too ill of ourselves-. We should simply resume prayer as soon as we can, doing what we know to be good for us.
Sometimes I scream, stomp my feet, and turn my back on my Higher Power. Then my disease tells me that I am a failure, and that if I stay angry I’ll surely get drunk. In those moments of self-will it’s as if I’ve slipped over a cliff and am hanging by one hand. The above passage is my safety net, in that it urges me to try some new behavior, such as being kind and patient with myself. It assures me that my Higher Power will wait until I am willing once again to risk letting go, to land in the net, and to pray.
Vernon Howard’s SECRETS OF LIFE
“The world wobbles as it spins. It wobbles terribly because it’s
inhabited by men and women who shake internally, whose daily lives
are a series of frustrations and tensions and confusions. So what
else would you expect for the whole world to shake and tremble when
everyone on it is doing just that?
And if you’d like to know at the very start the cause of all stress,
all anxiety, all nervousness, I will give it to you. And as I tell
you what it is, will you look back at yourselves at the moment I tell
you and try to see how true it is of your personal life? No matter
what your life is today, whether it’s financially successful or
otherwise or whether you have a nice comfortable home or not, when I
tell you the cause of all human tension and anxiety, try to connect
it with your own life, with your own mind.
You are in anxiety, you are in all sorts of irritation and confusion
about yourself because you live in self-doubt.”

Here are the values that I stand for:
honesty, equality, kindness, compassion,
treating people the way you want to be treated
and helping those in need.
To me, those are Traditional Values.

Each one of us is an outlet to God and an inlet to God.

I stand in the truth that he equality is my joyful Birthright
and I deeply know the same for the entirety of the human race.
Your fragrance fills the meadow.
Your mouth appears in a red anemone,
 but when those reminders leave,
my own lips open, and whatever I say,
I hear you.

Lesson 221
Peace to my mind.  Let all my thoughts be still.
Father, I come to You today to seek the peace that You alone can give. I come in silence. In the quiet of my heart, the deep recesses of my mind, I wait and listen for Your Voice. My Father, speak to me today. I come to hear Your Voice in silence and in certainty and love, sure You will hear my call and answer me.
Now do we wait in quiet. God is here, because we wait together. I am sure that He will speak to you, and you will hear. Accept my confidence, for it is yours. Our minds are joined. We wait with one intent; to hear our Father’s answer to our call, to let our thoughts be still and find His peace, to hear Him speak to us of what we are, and to reveal Himself unto His Son.
I am the babe of eternity, safe in the cradle of the thine omnipresent bosom.
Paramahansa Yogananda

And this delightful Herb whose tender Green
Fledges the River’s Lip on which we lean—
Ah, lean upon it lightly! for who knows
From what once lovely Lip it springs unseen!
