Criticism is often the sincerest form of flattery. We are all subject to it at times if we do anything at all. When criticism does arise, and before you build up a first rate resentment, think first – who is it that criticizes? What is the motive behind it? Is it constructive or just plain antagonistic? Is it prompted by jealousy or ignorance? Would you do the same thing again if you had it to do over? What does your conscience say about it?

No great man escaped having enemies; all the old masters had critics; all political and social reforms had their adversaries and the early disciples of all new religions were persecuted, stoned and crucified.

If you are criticized you may possibly be right, but if you are ignored you know you are wrong.

Vernon Howard’s SECRETS OF LIFE

“Connect a situation in your day with a basic principle you have learned.
Are you disturbed by a person with whom you work?
All right. Knowledge tells you it is unnecessary to be disturbed by anyone,
so examine yourself. Find out why you permit this person
to dictate over your emotions, ask why you choose to be disturbed instead of being perceptive. People always want to know how they can do something good for themselves.
This is it.”

Twenty Four Hours A Day  April 4,2016
Thought for the Day
When I came into A.A., I found men and women who had been through the same things I had been through. But now they were thinking more about how they could help others than they were about themselves. They were a lot more unselfish than I ever was. By coming to meetings and associating with them, I began to think a little less about myself and a little more about other people. I also learned that I didn’t have to depend on myself alone to get out of the mess I was in. I could get a greater strength than my own. Am I now depending less on myself and more on God?
Meditation for the Day
You cannot help others unless you understand the person you are trying to help. To understand the problems and temptations of others, you must have been through them yourself. You must do all you can to understand others. You must study their backgrounds, their likes and dislikes, their reactions and their prejudices. When you see their weaknesses, do not confront the person with them. Share your own weaknesses, sins, and temptations and let other people find their own convictions.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may serve as a channel for God’s power to come into the lives of others. I pray that I may try to understand them.

The deep thinkers of antiquity,
as well as the philosophers of all ages,
have meditated long and earnestly
upon the nature of the Divine Being.
The Science of Mind pg.68

We never apologize to anyone for depending upon our Creator.  We can laugh
at those who think spirituality the way of weakness. Paradoxically, it is the way
of strength. The verdict of the ages is that faith means courage. All men of faith
have courage. They trust their God. We never apologize for God. Instead we let
Him demonstrate, through us, what He can do. We ask Him to remove our fear
and direct our attention to what He would have us be. At once, we commence
to outgrow fear.

coming and going and

beyond description.

You are It.

ACIM Workbook Lesson 94 Insights
“I am as God created me.
It seems surprising that it would be so difficult to accept that we all are extensions of God’s Love. The power and strength of God’s Love is ours eternally. We cannot give this power away, even if we wanted to. We are God’s Son eternally. God’s Son is One, and is all inclusive. God’s Son is what we all are, forever. We cannot change that. No matter what wild and crazy stories we may choose to believe in for a while, the stories are really nothing, just foolish tales of aloneness, of separation from our eternal connection with God. I cannot be God’s Son alone. God’s Son includes everyone. God’s Light includes everyone.
As I watch TV and see the maneuvering and gyrations of the war, I can remember that all are God’s Son, complete and healed and whole eternally. The dreams of being on one side or another, of a conflict, are seen as silly ideas to be laid aside.
