DAILIES

Eye Opener (1950)

So many times we hear people say, “Don’t preach to me about God. He has no time for the likes of me.” It is hard for us alcoholics to conceive of a God, whom we have gone out of our way to alienate, who has time for the likes of us – yet we know that He does have time for us and has demonstrated this fact in hundreds of cases, just as though He had nothing else in the world to do.

Vernon Howard’s SECRETS OF LIFE

“Please! Don’t you want to give up your thinking about these

troubled experiences in order to be rid of their pain? No, you

don’t. How many heartaches from the past do you still cherish?

Doesn’t it give you a certain sense of identity, a foolish and

false one, by thinking sadly about the man you lost, by thinking

about that organization where you had exciting experiences? Maybe

they betrayed you or maybe they seemed to be loving toward you.

Forget it! None is good but God. And God doesn’t live in the past.

You do, and that’s why you are separated from him.”

Twenty Four Hours A Day March 25,2016
Thought for the Day
Strength comes from coming to believe in a Higher Power that can help you. You can’t define this Higher Power, but you can see how it helps other alcoholics. You hear them talk about it and you begin to get the idea yourself. You try praying in a quiet time each morning and you begin to feel stronger, as though your prayers were heard. So you gradually come to believe there must be a Power in the world outside yourself, which is stronger than you and to which you can turn for help. Am I receiving strength from my faith in a Higher Power?
Meditation for the Day
Spiritual development is achieved by daily persistence in living the way you believe God wants you to live. Like the wearing away of a stone by steady drops of water, so will your daily persistence wear away all the difficulties and gain spiritual success for you. Never falter in this daily, steady persistence. Go forward boldly and unafraid. God will help and strengthen you, as long as you are trying to do His will.
Prayer for the Day

I pray that I may persist day by day in gaining spiritual experience, I pray that I may make this a lifetime work.

If there is a law that is creative,
we cannot say that one thought will create while another will not.

Either we had tried to play God and dominate those about us,
or we had insisted on being overdependent upon them.

You’re in my eyes.

How else could I see light?

You’re in my brain.

This wild joy.

If love did not live in matter,

how would any place have any hold on anyone?

ACIM Workbook Lesson 84 Insights

Review: “Love created me like Itself.”
and “Love holds no grievances.”
With every situation, it is helpful that I remember that I am Love. With every situation, it is helpful to remember that everyone else is Love. With every situation, it is helpful to remember that only Love is real. Illusions of separation are meaningless and I do not have to give them meaning. It is when I give them meaning that I forget my Self and the Self in others.

I am here to be truly helpful. I can only be truly helpful when I allow my perceptions of distinct bodies with distinct minds to be undone by the Holy Spirit. If I am not at peace, let me remember that I am holding a grievance against the truth. Let me take that grievance to the Source of Love That shines a light on it and shows me that it is not real.

No one else has a personality just like yours.
No one else has a face just like yours.
No one else has a soul just like yours.
You are unique creation of God.
