Eye Opener (1950)
None of us has ever personally known a person
who died and surely went to Heaven.
As all men are sinners, we are told,
then it is assumed that even the saintliest of
men have some hidden sins in their past,
either of omission or commission.
We do know of many cases, however,
of people who have died the living death
of Alcoholism and who have come back
to make a little Heaven here on earth for
themselves and all those around them.

Vernon Howard’s SECRETS OF LIFE
“I am telling you there is a life other than yours! You won’t
listen to me when I tell you that. I tell you this in the
simplest words possible.
As you are now, inwardly, the way you think, feel, react, talk,
live, you do not have a real existence at all. All you have is
what you always have, and what you always have doesn’t want to
hear the lessons. It doesn’t even want lessons to exist be-
cause if lessons exist, you can’t doze in the center of your
own life and dreams and nightmares, you can’t live there. But
you’re told to do something to break out of yourself, and you
don’t want to do that.
Everything is tried – everything: Instructions, exhortation,
examples, illustrations, encouragement. Everything is tried
and nothing happens inside you. I’m waiting and I’m watching.
I’m talking to all of you, you’re all asleep in different ways.”

Twenty Four Hours A Day SEPT 14,2016
Thought for the Day
“How does A.A. grow? Some of us sell A.A. as we go about. Little clusters of twos and threes and five’s keep springing up in different communities, through contact with the larger centers. Those of us who travel drop in at other groups as often as we can. This practice enables us to lend a hand to new groups which are springing up all over the land. New groups are being started each month. A.A. is even spreading outside the United States and is slowly becoming world-wide. Thus we grow.” Am I doing all I can to spread A.A. wherever I go?
Meditation for the Day
“Lord, we believe. Help Thou our unbelief.” This cry of the human heart is an expression of human frailty. It signifies the soul’s sincere desire for progress. As a person feels the existence of God and His power, that person believes in Him more and more. At the same time, a person is more conscious of his falling short of absolute trust in God. The soul’s progress is an increasing belief, then a cry for more faith, a plea to conquer all unbelief, all lack of trust. We can believe that that cry is heard by God and that prayer is answered in due time. And so our faith grows, little by little, day by day.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that with more power in my life will come more faith. I pray that I may come to trust God more each day.

 My opportunities are unlimited.
There is a Divine Urge to express.
It permeates me and fills all space and all people.
All of my Affairs are in It’s hands.

First of all, we had to quit playing God.

When you go through a hard period,
When everything seems to oppose you,
… When you feel you cannot even bear one more minute,
Because it is the time and place that the course will divert

ACIM Workbook Lesson 256 Insights
“God is the only goal I have today.”
This is one of the places in the Course where he tells us point blank that the only way to God is through forgiveness. That is what it means in the introduction to the Course when it says, “This is a required course.”
What needs to be forgiven is the idea that we have a different will than God’s Will. Forgiveness makes way for us to accept God’s Will for us. God’s Will is that we be united with Him and share all His Love, all His peace, all His joy with Him. Nothing less, and there is nothing more.
The ego is the idea that it is possible to have more than Everything, Which is God. It is the wish for more than everything that must be forgiven. This wish plays out in the world in myriad forms. It plays out in addictions of all kinds. It plays out in workaholism, in needy relationships, in competition and depression, to name a few. It could be said this whole world is an addiction to specialness or individuality. All these forms are ego attempts to offer substitutes for God’s Love.
It could be said that forgiveness is letting go of searching for substitutes for God. We only search for substitutes because we are not willing to accept what God has given us. Through forgiveness, we clear the way to accept His gifts.
Today I ask the Holy Spirit’s help to forgive myself for seeking substitutes for God. Thus will I clear my mind to reach a unified goal to seek God and only God today. Thus will I receive His gifts, for I have cleared the way to give them to all my brothers.
Father, I would hear Your Voice today. I would open my mind to You to hear Your clear correction of my mistaken mind. I surrender to Your Thoughts. I would have none of my own.
I seek only to return to God today and have my thoughts be healed. I seek only the one answer to all pains and ills, lack and isolation. I open to God today and let God’s Word lead me so that I can be truly helpful to the Sonship.
I would not delay my return to the truth. I would not delay my brother’s return to the truth. I have only one goal today, the return to Love. My trust in Love alone increases as I allow Love’s healing touch upon my mind. Everything softens and it becomes easier to see past bodily forms to the one Christ mind that is always there. “God is the only goal I have today.”
Everyday radiate his consciousness to others.
Try to understand God’s plan for mankind…
to draw all souls back to Himself –
and work in harmony with His will.
Paramahansa Yogananda

“There are too many tears in my eyes!
The fires of Hell are no more than sparks of fire
as compared to the flames that consume me inside.
Paradise? For me it means
a moment of peace.”
