Columbus is the only man on record who didn’t know
where he was going when he set sail,
didn’t know where he was when he got there,
and didn’t know where he had been when he got back –
and still escaped the reputation of being an alcoholic.
If AA paid no further dividends than to get us out of that
haphazard, confused and disordered way of living,
it would be enough.
Now we at least know which end is up.

“There is a Higher Love waiting for you. What will you give up
in exchange for this Higher Love? What you have to sacrifice is
everything that is lower than this Higher Love.
There are hundreds, thousands of ways in which you act and react
and think and plan that you can, with strong work, detect as
obstacles to you possessing this higher state of love, which is the
same thing as the state of authentic and lasting happiness. What
will you give up? — that’s the question, and I have given you some
of the answers, and I will tell you very specifically what you
will have to abandon in order to find the life of Higher Love.”

Twenty Four Hours A Day SEPT 30,2016
Thought for the Day
There are no leaders in A.A. except as they volunteer to accept
responsibility. The work of carrying on A.A.- leading group meetings,
serving on committees, speaking before other groups, doing twelfth-step work, spreading A.A. among the alcoholics of the community –
all these things are done on a volunteer basis. if I don’t volunteer
to do something concrete for A.A., the movement is that much less
effective. I must do my fair share to carry the load. A.A. depends
on all its members to keep it alive and to keep it growing. Am I
doing my share for A.A.?
Meditation for the Day
When you look to God for strength to face responsibility and are
quiet before Him, His healing touch causes the Divine Quiet to flow
into your very being. When in weakness you cry to God, His touch
brings healing, the renewal of your courage, and the power to meet
every situation and be victorious. When you faint by the way or are
distracted by feelings of inferiority, then rely on the touch of
God’s spirit to support you on your way. Then arise and go forth
with confidence.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may lay myself open today to the healing touch of God.
I pray that I may not falter or faint by the wayside, but renew my
courage through prayer.

We believe in every church and in all forms of worship.
Above all, we certainly believe in God!
Because truth is infinite,
it must be continuously unfolding in the consciousness
of (humankind) and no one will ever have a
complete understanding of truth.

If the man be agnostic or atheist,
make it emphatic that he does
not have to agree with your conception of God.

Your fragrance fills the meadow.
Your mouth appears in a red anemone,
 but when those reminders leave,
my own lips open, and whatever I say,
I hear you.

ACIM Workbook Lesson 271 Insights
“Christ’s is the vision I will use today.”
This is another lesson emphasizing the power of decision. It reminds me of the lesson which says, “I have a kingdom I must rule.” Everything I experience, everything I perceive is the effect of my choice.
What thought system do I choose to be my guide for seeing? If I choose the ego thought system, I will see guilt, fear, loss and death, though Love, peace and Life surround me. If I choose the Holy Spirit as my Guide, I will see the face of Christ everywhere, for it is there to be seen, always. I will not raise the ego’s veils of substitute images to block my awareness of the Loving Self that I share with all that is.
It is always my choice. It seems incredible that I would choose anything but the Love of God. Yet the fact that I experience fear and conflict tells me that I have chosen against Love. Today I choose the Holy Spirit to guide my vision to show me Christ’s face in all my brothers in a forgiven world. Thus will I remember my Father and His gifts of peace and joy, given me in my creation.
In the section, “What is the Christ?” it is brought home to me that Christ is unified Thought that is in the Mind of God. We all are this unified Thought — one Christ — which is the one Self we share with God, and so we all are only Thought that lies in the Mind of God. That is the only part that is real.
I have been thinking about the fact that I am Thought and only Thought that resides in the Mind of God, which is Love. Seeing the face of Christ in my brother means seeing that my brother is the Thought of Love that still resides in the Mind of Love. This is my job today. This is using Christ’s vision.
The glory of God is revealed only in the quietness of the soul,
In the intensity of the inner effort of the mind to commune with Him.
It is there that we find truth.

“Then said another — “Surely not in vain
My Substance from the common Earth was ta’en,
That He who subtly wrought me into Shape
Should stamp me back to common Earth again.”
