It is not natural for a human being to
be entirely contemptuous of public opinion.
We all smart under criticism and we all enjoy applause.
We cannot be blamed for purring like a cat when
our fur is being rubbed the right way.
Neither public acclaim nor public censure is always deserved,
however, and we should therefore temper our reactions
to them until we have received the stamp of approval
from the little man inside us, who really knows the facts as to our desserts.
Vernon Howard’s SECRETS OF LIFE
“The law of the jungle. We know it because we live in it and are
surrounded by it. The foremost and most strict rule of the law of
the human jungle is, ‘What can I get from that other person for
myself regardless of how it will affect him?’ The law always speaks
from self-interest, from the wish to secure something at the expense
of someone else. Those living in this law have no awareness of it,
they just do it. They just live it and they leave a trail of grief
and broken hearts, confusion, wherever they go.
Now the law of the jungle means everyone, except the one or two or
three maybe in this world who have risen above the law of the
jungle. So that means that you have to make it your determination
to see that this is a fact, that in your insecurity you do
just that. Now you don’t call it a bad thing because you really
don’t know that it’s a bad thing to get something for yourself at
the expense of someone else. Desperation has no comprehension; it
just moves, it acts, it leaps and it takes and it clings to it and
then merrily, or rather unmerrily goes on its way.
The law of the jungle – if you live from it, you’ll be punished by it.”

Twenty Four Hours A Day  SEPT 9,2016
Thought for the Day
When alcoholics are offered a life of sobriety by following the A.A.
program, they will look at the prospect of living without alcohol and
they will ask. “Am I to be consigned to a life where I shall be stupid,
boring and glum, like some of the righteous people I see? I know I
must get along without liquor, but how can I? Have you a sufficient
substitute?” Have I found a more than sufficient substitute for
Meditation for the Day
In God’s strength you conquer life. Your conquering power is the grace
of God. There can be no complete failure with God. Do you want to make the best of life? Then live as near as possible to God, the Master and
Giver of all life. Your reward for depending on God’s strength will be
sure. Sometimes the reward will be renewed power to face life,
sometimes wrong thinking overcome, sometimes people brought to a new way of living. Whatever success comes will not be all your own doing, but largely the working out of the grace of God.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may try to rely more fully on the grace of God. I pray
that I may live a victorious life.

What we now experience we may cease
experiencing if we have the will and the
imagination to set our vision and an opposite
 direction and hold it there.
It is the office of the imagination to set the vision.

Don’t for a moment think that you’ve found
the goal of your love! Don’t stand still in the ranks.
You have no place with uniforms at rest.
You might as well consent to be a corsage,
or a rose in some beautiful woman’s hair.

ACIM Workbook Lesson 251 Insights
“I am in need of nothing but the truth.”
After working with the lesson I quieted my mind and asked Spirit for more insight about this lesson. This is what I received:
The truth will set you free. The truth will bring you peace. The truth is all there is. Dreams just appear to be real. You do not need to buy into them. Buying into dreams of separation from your true Identity brings with it anxiety, guilt and fear. This need not be. The truth is true and nothing else is true. You can learn to open to the truth and let its healing Light transform all the false ideas in your mind.
Let the Holy Spirit melt away what is not true. Let the Holy Spirit be in your mind so that you are able to realize what is true and what is not true. In madness, fear seems very real indeed. When you open to the Light of truth, you see that all that you feared was really nothing. You see that you are eternally safe in the Mind of Love. You see that you are united with all your brothers in that one indivisible Love. In truth you feel safe. In truth you know that you never left Home. In truth you are at peace eternally.
Dear God, I open to the truth now, that all my fears would be removed. I open to Your peace. I open to Love’s happiness. Today I practice accepting Reality.
The truth tells me I have nothing to fear. There is nothing outside me. There is no “other,” different from me that could bring me any harm. Since there is only the one Creation of God, harm is impossible. The world of destruction, decay and death that the body shows me cannot be part of the oneness of truth. Truth cannot change. Anything that I perceive that appears to change cannot be real.
Change is a signal, a symptom of unreality. All fear is based on the belief that change is possible and so all fear is based on unreality. This is my release from the bondage of belief that separation could be real.
To walk to freedom I need to take every thought of change, every thought of loss or lack, every thought of harm to the Holy Spirit. I need to open my mind to His Light to receive His vision that shows me what is real and what is unreal. He will teach me with love and kindness that I remain the holy Son of God, as I was created. He will teach me that all my brothers are that same Self, the holy Son of God. He looks upon everyone with complete equality. As I learn to see as He sees, I will know the Love that I am as I see it in my brothers.
Guide my thoughts today, Holy Spirit, that I may see the innocence that is the truth of all my brothers and my Self. Truth is everything I need.
Anytime you become fascinated
by some material creation,
 close your eyes, look within,
and contemplate its Source.

A Flask of Wine, a Book of Verse – and Thou
Beside me singing in the Wilderness –
And Wilderness is Paradise enow.”
